Jeff Vogt is an avid fisherman; possessing skills in both salt and fresh water formats (this apparently includes inflatable pools). Somewhere along the way, somebody convinced him he’d be better off selling cod than catching it. Well, lucky for us he turned out to be a darn fine Creative Director.
He began his advertising career at Ammirati and Puris, a very famous ad agency back then. Famous for, most notably, BMW. Jeff was one of the original art directors on BMW here in the States. Some say it was there he became meticulous, discerning and perfection-oriented. Others say he became artsy-fartsy. The jury is still out.
Jeff then went on to work at other premier advertising agencies including Scali, McCabe Sloves, DDB Needham, Young & Rubicam, BBDO and Chiat/Day. It was at these agencies he worked on many high-profile campaigns including Pepsi, MTV, Volvo, Nikon, Reebok and Jaguar.
In 1993 Jeff founded Turbine, a highly respected and creatively lauded agency in Westport, Connecticut. There he partnered with blue chip clients such as; Oxford Health Plans, Nokia, NFL, Chase, ESPN, BMW, Citibank, The Ad Council, Skip Barber, Samsung, UnitedHealthcare and many more.
Jeff’s advertising efforts have been honored by the Clios, The One Show, Communication Arts, Addys, the Telly Awards, and the New York Art Directors Club. His life’s work was showcased at the Houghton Gallery in NYC. Jeff’s television campaign for Samsung resides in the Permanent Collection of the Museum of Modern Art. Jeff received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Cooper Union in NYC. He couches any mention of youthful indiscretion with the disclaimer, “Hey, it was a different time back then.”
